    Full payment is required on order/booking to secure your seat for training. The training courses are run subject to demand (Minimum of 3 students per class). Manual and Lunch included per person booked. Registration starts 30 minutes before classes commence. Classes begin at 9:00am; and end between 3:30pm and 4:30 pm. Certificates are awarded to students who have completed the course; and we have received their evaluation form for the applicable training course. Certificates will only be issued if we have received full payment for the training. Certificates will be e-mailed to the students. We do not have original hard copies. Certificates will only be issued if the full course has been attended. The student must have a fair knowledge and experience in the use of a computer.

    On-site Training (training conducted at customer's premises)

    Full payment is required on order to secure your booking; and is subject to agreed dates between customer and Modena. One manual supplied per day booked. Additional manuals will be supplied on request, at an additional rate per manual. (please contact Modena for these rates) Travel, accommodation and meal costs as well as Visa fees, inoculations (if applicable) are for the customer's account. Customer is to ensure that each student has a computer, with the applicable software installed. We can assist with installation and set up of software, whereby an additional day will be charged for. Customer to supply projector and screen. Alternatively, Modena can supply a projector, at R650.00 / day excl. VAT. Classes begin at 8:30am; and end between 3:30pm and 4:30 pm. Certificates are awarded to students who have completed the course; and we have received their evaluation form for the applicable training course. Certificates will only be issued if we have received full payment for the training. Certificates will be e-mailed to the students. We do not have original hard copies. The student must have a fair knowledge and experience in the use of a computer. In the event of a cancellation; new proposed dates will be given to the customer, subject to availability of Modena's resources.

    CANCELLATION POLICY

    CANCEL WITHOUT COSTS:

    • If you advise us BY EMAIL at least SEVEN calendar days before the course.
    PAY 50% OF THE COURSE FEE: • If you advise us BY EMAIL less than SEVEN calendar days, but more than 24 hours before the course PAY 100% OF THE COURSE FEE
    • If you advise us BY EMAIL less than 24 hours before the start of the scheduled course, OR if the delegate is ABSENT without notification.

    POSTPONEMENT POLICY

    WITHOUT COSTS:

    • If you advise us BY EMAIL more than THREE working days before the course
    • If you advise us BY EMAIL THREE or less working days before the course starts, or if the delegate is ABSENT without notification, but still wants the option of postponement

Revit MEP Fundamentals

To take full advantage of Building Information Modeling, the Autodesk® Revit® MEP Fundamentals training guide has been designed to teach the concepts and principles of creating 3D parametric models of MEP system from engineering design through construction documentation. The training guide is intended to introduce students to the software’s user interface and the basic HVAC, electrical, and plumbing/piping components that make Revit MEP a powerful and flexible engineering modeling tool. The objective is to familiarize students with the tools necessary to create, document, and print the parametric model. The examples and practices are designed to take the students through the basics of a full Revit MEP project from linking in an architectural model to construction documents. The main topics covered in the course include:

  • Introduction to Revit MEP, its interface, including viewing, drawing, and editing commands.
  • Working with linked architectural files.
  • Creating and modifying views.
  • Understanding Revit MEP systems in general.
  • Creating spaces and zones.
  • Analyzing heating and cooling loads.
  • Working with the HVAC module to add air terminals, mechanical equipment, and create HVAC systems.
  • Working with the Piping module to add mechanical equipment as well as creating hydronic piping systems.
  • Working with fire protection systems.
  • Working with fixtures and piping systems in the Plumbing module.
  • Working with components, circuits, cable tray, and conduits in the Electrical module.
  • Creating and annotating construction documents.
  • Adding tags and creating schedules.
