Fusion’s Latest Updates

Autodesk Fusion’s Latest Updates: Less clicking, more making

Autodesk Fusion’s September and October updates bring faster assemblies, smarter sheet metal tools and more capable manufacturing workflows. Here’s what matters for design and production teams.
The latest Autodesk Fusion releases bring practical improvements for design and manufacturing teams, from faster large assemblies to more capable CAM, sheet metal and product data workflows.

September introduced more predictable lofts, smarter sheet metal tools and expanded Product Manufacturing Information capabilities. That means less time correcting geometry, fewer manual workarounds and clearer manufacturing intent carried with the model.

For production-focused teams, the update also makes a real difference on the shop floor. Fusion can now create milling tool holders directly from imported manufacturer models, helping programmers avoid recreating supplier data. Polar machining is now included in core Fusion, giving compatible mill-turn workflows more flexibility without adding software complexity.

Fusion is helping teams move from design intent to production-ready output with fewer handovers and less rework.

Building on the momentum

October builds on that momentum with a strong focus on performance and everyday manufacturing efficiency. Large, nested assemblies can open, save and edit up to 35% faster, while eligible legacy assemblies may open up to 80% faster after a one-time clean-up.

Manufacturing users also gain more control where it counts:

  • The Selection Bar makes complex machining geometry easier to select
  • Smarter retract linking in 3D Offset Roughing helps avoid unnecessary lifts while maintaining safe toolpaths.
  • The Stock Material Library helps teams standardise material inputs and improve repeatability across jobs.
  • Better toolpath state visibility makes larger CAM documents easier to review
From model to machine, Fusion is making it easier to keep information connected, setups consistent and projects moving.
For teams looking to shorten the distance between a great idea and a great product, these updates are worth exploring. They are not about changing how you work overnight. They are about helping every stage of the workflow work a little harder for you.
